Our program trains future health care professionals to analyze and address critical issues in medicine on a global scale. Students get a solid foundation in global health topics over the course of three semesters. Our program offers two different tracks: clinical and management. The clinical track track incorporates first year medical school coursework - Keck School is one of the only medical schools that allows students outside of MD and PhD programs to take courses alongside medical students. Management track students also take courses with the USC Marshall School of Business and USC Viterbi School of Engineering. A group of our students had the unique opportunity to take a course that allowed them to spend two weeks in Taiwan learning about clinical medicine and health care reform. Summer 2012, a new group of students will have the opportunity to go to Taiwan and another group will be able to study clinical medicine and socioeconomic factors in Uganda. Graduates of the program are competitive applicants to medical, physician assistant, dental, and pharmacy schools and have been accepted at highly-ranked universities across the country. They are also well-respected among non-profit organizations and corporations.
