About Girl Scout Council of the Nation’s Capital

Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital is the largest Girl Scout Council in the country.  It provides girls in grades K-12 with opportunities to learn new skills, make friends, and discover the power of girls together. Girl Scouts Nation’s Capital serves members in the Greater Washington Region, with 88,591 members—62,265 girls and 26,325 adult volunteers and lifetime members.  With 118 employees, six offices, eight camps, we serve 25 counties in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. Together, with the support of our dedicated adult volunteers and parents, the generosity of corporations, foundations and our popular Girl Scout Cookie program, Girl Scouting helps build girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.  In 2016 Girl Scouts is proud to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, the Gold Award.
