About us

The Conservancy of Southwest Florida, located in Naples, is a private, non-profit organization that has preserved more than 300,000 acres of land, introduced environmental education into public schools and taught more than one million people about the importance of conserving the environment. The Conservancy works to protect and rehabilitate many of the 100 threatened or listed species in Florida. Our scientists conduct regular research on wildlife and their habitats. The policy staff works to ensure plans are in place to balance smart growth with preserving our natural resources. Our education team uses electric boat and kayak tours of the Gordon River, Eco-cruises on Rookery Bay, the 21 acre Nature Center, the Discovery Center with interactive and live exhibits, on-site and off-site guided nature walks, school outreach and special events to teach the importance of the wildlife. The Conservancy's Wildlife Hospital rescues more than 2,500 animals yearly. This 5,200 square foot facility provides a full time veterinarian, operating room and recovery wing. Part of the Nature Center experience includes the viewing of wildlife
