Alliance for Conflict Transformation

About Us

Alliance for Conflict Transformation (ACT) is a non-profit organization dedicated to building peace through innovative education, training, research and practice worldwide. ACT helps people transform destructive conflicts by addressing underlying needs and concerns, building sustainable relationships, and changing the contexts and conditions that foster violence.

ACT’s programs focus on four main areas including: education and youth; civil society and community building; intercultural relations and ethnic conflict; and research, assessment and evaluation.

ACT conducts peacebuilding projects throughout the United States and in several regions of the world (often in partnership with local NGOs), including the Middle East, the Caucasus, Central Asia, SouthEastern and Central Europe, Latin America and Northern Ireland.

ACT also maintains the ACT Forums, a leading online resource for jobs, scholarships, grants, events and other information related to peace and conflict resolution and related fields.
