About Us

The Sondheim Public Affairs Scholarship Program supports talented undergraduate students interested in pursuing careers in law, government, public affairs, the non-profit sector, corporations and the community. Scholars participate in service learning, internships, research and activism while receiving additional program advisement and support.

Sondheim Scholars have the opportunity to learn about American and world societies, develop a deep understanding of public policy, and acquire skills for becoming effective public leaders, while majoring in the social sciences at UMBC. Students are nurtured through peer connections and receive generous academic scholarships often covering the greater part of the cost of attending UMBC.
