About Us

A.V.E.S-TOGO is a non- government organisation created in 2001 by plural disciplinary groups of development actors who were met to think on the development issues in West Africa, particularly in Togo. Then they propose to create that basic development structure. This organisation is recognised by the authorities and administration Ministry under the number Récépissé N°0964/MAT-SG-DAPOC-DOCA/TG How to accompany, to support and to aware the local communities in the identification and analysis of their problems and skills in view to research and find the own available means and ways to make better their living conditions by sustaining their life quality is the real problem about which this organisation tries to put solution. That’s the policy of the founders of A.V.E.S-TOGO, which wants to be an organisation of proximity development and that one which supports local communities for self-promotion.

AIM To fight against poverty by ameliorating the basic social services with a particular accent on voluntary events in order to put stop to these social vices such as drug abuse, teenage delinquency, rape environmental depletion, child- labour and street children fulfilling the Millennium Objectives of Durable Development.

GOALS -To promote community development in health organising seminars that will create awareness on sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV/AIDS, Gonorrhoea and others as Malaria -To promote the Education by establishing schools, supporting rural community schools, training and teaching programmes that will improve the Environment, -To promote Agriculture by identifying the skills and resources within the group and opportunities for self-employment, -To reinforce the youth solidarity and cultural exchange by organising short, middle and long term abroad voluntary services and international work camps.

MISSION To work for economical and social promotion of citizen and rural communities by using a number of intervention methods based on adults training, participative actions, free and responsible participating of interest groups for sustainable changes of the communities by clear and healthy environment promotion. That’s the way to contribute to the truthfully social development as A.V.E.S-TOGO has vocation as practical support manager, counsellor and accompanier to local communities in their daily life conditions and for the poverty reduction.

VIEW FOR DEVELOPMENT

The social and political projects are planed with development view of the institution. A.V.E.S-TOGO trusts in the incoming societies in which the local communities should be organised and should have power and authority: - to contribute to social and healthy environment restoration, - to value natural resources by taking in account local skills of development, - to participate to resources management and preservation, - to plan local development by acting and taking care of environment integrity - to increase the decisional and organisational selfless for sustainable development by making proposals, influencing the national policy on community development - to promote the partnership with Institutions, Organisations and organised societies by the millennium objectives for development A.V.E.S-TOGO contributes to social, economical and cultural development.

INTERVENTION APPROACHES

For realising the needs of public groups, some approaches are adopted and these are based on complementarities and international solidarity. These approaches are that for practical and participate, multi sectorial and systemic based on following principles: self-trust associated forces, responsibility, actions planning and experiences exchange.
