About Us

PeacePlayers International (PPI) is an innovative global organization with a mission to "unite, educate, and inspire young people in divided communities through basketball." Founded in 2001, the organization operates four year-round programs in Northern Ireland, South Africa, Israel, and Cyprus, each operating on the premise that "children who play together can learn to live together." In its 10+ years, PPI has impacted more than 65,000 children, helping them to form positive relationships, develop leadership skills, and improve their futures.

As the recipient of the "Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs (2007), the "Laureus Sport for Good Award" (2008), and the Peace and Sport "Non-Governmental Organization for Peace of the Year Award" (2011), PPI has established itself as a leader in the burgeoning movement to use sport for peacebuilding.
