Hawaii Literacy's mission is to help people gain knowledge and skills by providing literacy and lifelong learning services. Our programs support parents as a child's first literacy teachers, train volunteers to teach adults to read and write, and provide books, materials, programs and literacy promotion where the need is greatest.
Hawaii Literacy focuses its efforts on those with the lowest level literacy skills, preparing them for greater educational and employment opportunities and encouraging them to become active vital citizens of Hawai`i.
