About us

The Myanmar/Burma Indigenous Network for Education (MINE), is currently made up of 24 education organizations representing 12 Indigenous groups living in remote, often conflict affected areas across Myanmar.
MINE has two main roles: 1. To support the provision of locally informed and owned quality education services in Indigenous communities. 2. To advocate for improved access to and quality of relevant basic education for Indigenous children.
MINE’s current project activities include pre-service, in service and mobile teacher training, parent education/awareness, and school management capacity building and reach 1621 schools, 5549 teachers, 135237 students and approximately 48000 parents.  MINE will soon start a new initiative to bring over 82000 out-of-school children into school
