About us

MAPLE (Microdevelopment for the Alleviation of Poverty through Learning and Entrepreneurship) is a United States based organization currently operating in East Africa. We provide tailored business skills education, entrepreneur-mentoring, and microfinancial services to community groups engaged in savings and loan programs throughout Eastern and Northern Uganda. We also provide life skills education and mentorship to youth, enabling them to build the habits necessary to become self-sufficient and support their own families and communities in the future. We are a group of students, university faculty, professionals and community members from both industrialized and developing countries who work together to create strong intercultural models for development and leadership training.
