Bushwick United Housing Development Fund Corporation, through its Head Start program, has provided high quality, early childhood educational programs for over 30 years to children from families who are below the poverty line; currently we serve the Bushwick and Williamsburg communities of Brooklyn. Our educational program provides children with a developmentally appropriate and dynamic learning environment that spans literacy development, art, science, math, block-building, dramatic play, technology, social-emotional development, music, health, and nutrition. In addition, we offer a comprehensive family-focused series of programs that continuously strive to meet the changing needs of children and families of low income neighborhoods.
Our primary goal is to provide services to children and families that enable them to become meaningfully integrated into the society in a productive capacity. Beginning at an early age, we seek to provide children with a "head start" in their formative years of development.
