About Us

The Green Project is an organization dedicated to promoting and encouraging environmentally sustainable living in an urban setting, specifically in post-Katrina New Orleans. We echo this main ethic by providing fun and innovative environmental programming, operating a building materials recycling store, forming alliances with other organizations to further our purpose and mission, promoting community involvement in environmental activities, offering affordable space to other community-based environmental organizations, and ensuring that we're an environmental reference resource for the Greater New Orleans area.

The Green Project needs volunteers from every background, with all skill levels to do many different kinds of jobs. Volunteers can come alone or in groups. Volunteers should be at least 14 years old, but younger children may volunteer with their parents. There is no upper age limit. Whether you can come three days a week, or just once a month, we have a volunteer position for you!
