About us

Temple's School of Media and Communication (SMC) ranks among the largest, most comprehensive schools of communication in the country, and is considered the Philadelphia region's leading provider of media employees. The school enrolls approximately 3,000 undergraduate students and 200 graduate students, and employees over 60 full-time faculty.

The Globalization and Development Communication (GDC) program is a one-year M.S. program involving 30 hours of coursework on communication theory and research methods focused on the history, goals and practices of development communication. While the GDC program includes training in research skills and theory, it emphasizes effective action and involves a practicum capstone experience. It tailors academic training to the needs of practioners, policy makers and project managers working in the development sector.
