About Us

The Fit Kids Foundation (Fit Kids) was founded in January 2011. Its mission is to promote healthy, active lives for children in underserved Bay Area communities through high quality youth fitness programs and nutrition tips. Fit Kids’ goal is to inspire a love of sports and physical activity that will be the foundation for healthy living, while simultaneously helping to build participants’ positive relationships, self-confidence, independence and ability to deal with adversity.

Fit Kids began four programs at four schools in East Palo Alto in the spring of 2011. The success of those programs, and the resulting reputation for offering high-quality services, led to an exponential increase in demand for the Fit Kids program over each subsequent season. In cooperation with the Ravenswood City School District and the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula, Fit Kids has served 14 different locations throughout East Palo Alto, East Menlo Park and Redwood City since the spring of 2011. Aggressive program expansion allows Fit Kids to have an impact on the health, fitness, and overall quality of life of more and more children living in these communities.
