About us

Alive to thrive- because mental health matters.

ThriveNYC is an $850M investment in New York City’s mental health.  A plan propelled by the Mayor’s office, it is the first city-wide course of action to promote and protect the mental well-being of New Yorkers.  It aims to destigmatize mental illness and increase access to and availability of mental health care.   ThriveNYC is a comprehensive plan consisting of 54 initiatives.

The Mental Health Service Corps (MHSC) is one of the largest and most exiting initiatives.  Over the next four years, more than 300 clinicians (psychologists, psychiatrists, and social workers) will be placed in primary care, substance use, and behavioral health settings throughout the five boroughs.

The MHSC also allows early-career clinicians to deliver care and, simultaneously, earn the supervised clinical experience hours required to proceed towards their licensure.  Clinicians will be trained to provide screening, diagnosis, and direct patient care and promote evidence-based treatment and mental health practices.  Mental health training will be provided to a quarter-million New Yorkers.
