About us

Southeast Louisiana Legal Services is a nonprofit civil legal aid program that represents low-income persons throughout twenty-two parishes in Southeast Louisiana. We provide direct representation in landlord tenant, federally subsidized housing, consumer, bankruptcy, foreclosure defense, family, foster care, income security, employment, health care, tax, successions and education cases. We help indigent people with individual and law reform cases and believe in a multi-faceted, holistic approach to advocacy for our clients. Currently SLLS is the largest public interest law firm in the state of Louisiana.

We have more that 50 attorneys working in our offices in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Hammond, Covington, Houma and Harvey, Louisiana. Together we handle more than 10,000 cases per year.
