About us

The Citizens' Utility Board of Oregon (CUB), along with its sister organization, the CUB Policy Center, has been a leader in consumer advocacy within the energy industry since its foundation in 1984. Our mission is to represent the interests of Oregon's residential utility customers before administrative, judicial and legislative bodies, such as the Oregon Public Utility Commission and the Oregon Legislature.

CUB is devoted to advocating for fair, affordable utility rates for all residential consumers, with a particular focus on lower-income and disadvantaged individuals. We also work to support thoughtful policies and regulations that will benefit Oregonian consumers on a broad range of energy issues. These additional areas of focus include low-income consumer protection, energy efficiency, renewable energy, electric vehicles, Smart Grid technology, and environmental stewardship. The CUB Policy Center is the hub of CUB's policy research and development and consumer outreach activities.
