About Us

The friars at St. Anthony Shrine and Ministry Center embody a spirit of openness, compassion, dialogue, and reconciliation toward all people. Like many other places of Catholic worship, we offer the sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation, as well as programs for particular age groups. As Franciscans we take a deliberate stance in solidary with the alienated, the immigrant, and the poor. Consequently, we also have a Center for 12-Step Recovery, a Wellness Center, Spiritual Directors, funerals for the homeless, a Food Center providing groceries to 450 families per week, a LGBT ministry, a ministry to parents who have lost a child, a prison ministry, and numerous other methods of outreach in support of the alienated, the immigrant, and the poor. Consistent with ecclesiology of Vatican II and its renewed theology of baptism, we Franciscans have committed ourselves to developing partnerships with the laity as our way of ministering.
