In an age when it can be most dangerous to have people misusing a conviction about the certainty of an Afterlife (for example, Terrorism), it is most important that a sensible and balanced view upon the subject is maintained and made accessible to the public.

This is a subject which has occupied many minds over long periods in history. We take a broad view of science. This ranges from the watertight methods characteristic of the physical sciences to the broad qualitative methods with which we are coming to understand as part of the better ways to understand human actions. We also, hence the title of the Charity, have a tolerant understanding of the Survivalists who have religious views as well. For some years now we have been participating in the activities of a little Committee which is interested in attempts to scientifically investigate whether or not humans and animals survive the process of dying. In practice, about three times a year we gather for an afternoon to discuss and promote experiments aimed at exploring this subject. There’s tea to be had and some interesting – very interesting - ideas. Both elements satisfy! On the committee, there are people knowledgeable about the subject who have had experience and also read some of the large literature on the subject. But we need help. There are experiments we need help with, including our very own experiments and there are administrative needs if we are to accomplish our tasks according to the Deeds we have as a Registered Charity.
