English in Mind Institute

English in Mind Institute (EIM) is one of the only free, adult English schools in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Located in the Clercine neighborhood of PaP, not far from the airport, EIM exists to provide high-quality English education to adults in Haiti who otherwise, wouldn't be able to afford it. EIM started as a language exchange through the UK NGO European Disaster Volunteers (EDV) but has evolved into a Haitian taught, Haitian adminstered school with over 160 students at 7 levels, all following an internationally recognized Cambridge syllabus. EDV is no longer in Haiti, but the school remains and continues to grow and thrive. Although under Haitian leadership, we still accept native English speaking volunteers to offer additional classes to help with listening, pronunciation and test prep.
