About Us

The Order Sons and Daughters of Italy in America® (OSDIA), or simply the Sons and Daughters of Italy®, is the largest and oldest national membership organization for men and women of Italian heritage in the United States. Established in 1905 as a mutual aid society for Italian immigrants, today OSDIA has members and supporters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia, making it the leading service and advocacy organization for the nation's estimated 26 million people of Italian descent.

OSDIA works to encourage the study of Italian language and culture in American schools and universities; preserve Italian American traditions, culture, history and heritage; highlight issues important to Italian Americans; and promote closer cultural relations between the United States and Italy.

The Sons of Italy has a philanthropic branch, the Sons of Italy Foundation® (SIF), and an anti-defamation branch, the Commission for Social Justice® (CSJ), both separately incorporated 501(c)(3) organizations.
