The mission of the University of Washington School of Public Health and Community Medicine (SPHCM) is to promote population health, prevent illness, disability, and injury, and ensure efficient, effective, and equitable health care systems through education, research, and service.
The UW SPHCM is a national leader in public health education and research. School departments are Biostatistics, Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Global Health, and Health Services. Interdiscipliary programs include Health Administration, Maternal and Child Health, Nutritional Sciences, Pathobiology, and Public Health Genetics. We also offer certificates in Basic or Advanced Clinical Research Methods, Emergency Preparedness and Response, Global Health, Health Management, Health Policy, HIV and STIs, Maternal and Child Health, and Public Health Practice.
