About Us

Settlement Housing Fund (Settlement Housing) is a non-profit affordable housing developer established in 1969. The organization's mission is to create and sustain high quality affordable housing and programs, building strong and economically diverse neighborhoods throughout New York City and providing pathways to long-term affordable housing, education, employment and wellness. To accomplish this, Settlement Housing develops mixed-income housing, integrating formerly homeless as well as low and moderate income families in well-maintained buildings. Since its founding, Settlement Housing has been responsible for developing 57 developments with over 8,700 apartments, housing more than 25,000 New York City residents in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. The organization currently owns 29 buildings with nearly 1,700 rental units. Besides rentals, Settlement Housing has developed cooperatives, condominiums, and two-family homes.
