Ingenuity Prep Public Charter School will open in Southeast D.C. in August of 2013. Initially serving preschool through kindergarten, Ingenuity Prep will expand a grade-level each year to eventually serve students in preschool through 8th grade.
With a commitment to preparing its students to succeed in college and become impactful civic leaders, Ingenuity Prep's model will leverage the following:
- Extended learning time
- Teams of content-specialized teachers that loop with their students
- A blended learning instructional model which will allow over 75% of students' learning time to occur in small-groups
- A homegrown civic leadership program emphasizing social-emotional literacy, collaborative problem-solving, social studies, and service learning
