About Us

Mission Graduates is a nonprofit organization that increases the number of K-12 students in San Francisco's Mission District who are prepared for and complete a college education.

We work towards fulfilling our mission through a wide range of after-school support services that serve over 3,400 children, youth and families each year. Our vision is to transform the culture of our neighborhood so that college becomes the expectation for Mission families, rather than the exception.

The Extended Day Program (EDP) is an award-winning after-school academic enrichment program serving 1,600 students at 7 schools, Bryant ES, Flynn, ES, Marshall ES, Sanchez ES, Alvarado ES, Cleveland ES, and Thomas Edison Charter Academy.  The program extends the learning day to ensure that students can transition to middle school with the English language, literacy, and academic skills necessary to excel. This often includes being reclassified as English Language Proficient before they leave elementary school, ensuring our students are prepared to succeed.

The Mission Community Beacon at Everett Middle School provides after-school and summer programming, school-day support, and parent engagement, through a collaboration of program partners. As service hub of the San Francisco Beacon Initiative, the Mission Community Beacon provides academic, social, and emotional support to their youth as they prepare for lives as successful adults.

College Access and Success works with students who live or attend school in the Mission District and would be the first in their family to attend college and surrounds them with caring adult experts in college admissions as well as a cohort of peers who are just as committed to attending college, and supports them through college graduation. We ensure that students are not only accepted into college, but that they acquire the financial means to attend, and the support to ensure they receive their diploma.

The Parent Partner Program is designed to increase the academic success and college prospects of Mission youth by nurturing a strong culture of parent engagement across Mission schools. This program complements MG’s other core programs. This is accomplished this through trainings on school governance, peer-to-peer education and support, and leadership development.
