About Us

The Institute for Workforce Innovation is a non-profit located in north central Florida. Our mission is to improve our communities’ quality of life through education, employment and advocacy.

For nearly 30 years our primary focus has been helping people secure employment. We have a long history of collaborating with local, state, and federal partners to provide unique services to meet the growing needs of our community. Whether creating opportunity for people by building affordable housing, providing hunger relief, developing a career ladder, or through grassroots advocacy, we are dedicated to improving the lives of our neighbors.

Our projects include: -FloridaWorks: one stop career centers located in Gainesville and Starke which provide an array of job placement and preparedness training services to business and job seekers. -Melrose Senior Community Center: a senior community center in Melrose, FL offering an array of activities and services to promote active living and aging in place. -Project ReStart: a job training and entrepreneurial education program for unemployed older workers, located at the Melrose Senior Community Center. -Project YouthBuild: a 7-month intensive educational and vocational training program for at-risk youth aged 16-24 who have dropped out of high school.
