For more than 20 years, Terrence Higgins Trust has campaigned for greater public understanding of the personal, social and medical impact of HIV and AIDS. We work to combat stigma and prejudice, raise public awareness and promote good sexual health. Despite our successes, there is still a lot of work to be done and we can't do it without your support.

Our network of e-campaigners are an essential part of our work. You can join our e-campaign team by taking part in one of our campaigns and registering to tell your representatives how you feel about HIV and sexual health issues. A few moments of your time can make all the difference to the lives of people with HIV.

The UK has the worst sexual health in Western Europe, with higher levels of sexually transmitted infections than at any time since the creation of the NHS. Over 65,000 people are living with HIV in the UK, a third of them undiagnosed. Yet the 2002-03 House of Commons Health Committee report on sexual health found that 'No area of public health in England has suffered a more widespread decline in recent years than sexual health.' The main factor lacking in the fight against the epidemic is the political will necessary to turn the tide.

People living with the disease still face discrimination and prejudice along with a range of other barriers which can seriously affect their standard of living. By choosing to become a THT campaigner you are adding your voice to those calling for better standards of sexual health treatment and promotion and a better quality of life for people affected by HIV and other sexually transmitted infections.
