About Us

Fort Worth Independent School District is based in Fort Worth, Texas, United States. It is currently the fifth largest school district in Texas.

With over 80,000 students in 83 elementary schools, 28 middle schools and 6th grade centers, 14 high schools and 17 special campuses, Fort Worth ISD enjoys a diverse student population and strong community partnerships. Under the leadership of the superintendent and the Board of Education, the District is undergoing a series of initiatives that will redesign, transform and revitalize Fort Worth ISD Schools.

Fort Worth ISD serves most of the city of Fort Worth. The district also serves the cities of Benbrook, Westover Hills, and Westworth Village. The district also covers portions of Forest Hill and Haltom City and unincorporated portions of Tarrant County.

The superintendent of the Fort Worth ISD is Walter D. Dansby.
