Family Violence Appellate Project

Nonprofit or community organization

Last modified: February 8, 2014, 10:05 PM

Family Violence Appellate Project is the only organization in California dedicated to appealing cases on behalf of survivors of domestic violence. We are a start-up nonprofit agency whose mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of survivors and their children by helping them obtain effective appellate representation. We represent clients in the California Courts of Appeal, submit amicus curiae (friend-of-the-court) briefs in cases of statewide importance, work to get domestic violence cases published so they can be used in court, provide training services to domestic violence attorneys and advocates, and assist people who represent themselves in appeals. If you are interested in being part of a new and exciting resource for domestic violence survivors and advocates in California, this is the place for you!
