Description

The Youth Acheivers mentoring program at the YMCA of Orange County helps children from 5th to 8th grade, by matching them up with a mentor. The mentors are positive role models and assist the youth with their homework, demonstrate good character attributes, and help to improve the students' social skills. The mentors meet one-on-one with the student in an academic group setting and build a great relationship with one another. These children are at risk of retention, however with the help of our mentors we aim to make them successful students who strive towards academic achievementand personal success.
