About Us

The mission of The ELM Project is to enhance the lives of underserved youth living with chronic illness by providing an enriching summer camp experience and the tools for a healthy, independent future.

We are a non-profit organization founded in 1995 and serve children who are 7 - 19 years old. All our programs are offered at no cost to families.

It is the firm conviction of The ELM Project that youth, regardless of their economic, social or medical challenges should have the opportunity to experience the carefree joys of childhood. The goal of The ELM Project is to develop independence, friendship, and self-confidence through the building of new skills and increased abilities in a safe and healthy environment. We offer a summer camp program every August called Camp AmeriKids, as well as a year-round Leader-in-Training Program for our older participants.
