MESA advances a new generation of agrarian leaders by linking innovations in sustainable agriculture with ancestral knowledge worldwide, promoting place-appropriate production, land stewardship, and cultural awareness.
MESA is a farmer-to-farmer exchange program. MESA sponsors annual programs for international agriculture Stewards to live and train on U.S. farms, education centers, and businesses that are practicing sustainable and ecological farming. MESA works with U.S. farms of various scales, agroecology education centers, urban agriculture programs, and related industries to host Stewards from Ecuador, Peru, Thailand, Brazil, India, Ghana, Philippines, and France for vocational training opportunities in transitional, organic, biodynamic and sustainable agriculture, as well as alternative distribution and manufacturing.
MESA also partners with NGOs in the participants' home countries to ensure that when Stewards return home, they have a support network in place to help them maximize their training experience and complete successful Home Country Projects. Please review our website for further information about our programs, our goals, and our methodology.
