Save the Sound, a program of Connecticut Fund for the Environment, is dedicated to the restoration, protection, and appreciation of the Long Island Sound region through advocacy, education and research.
Save the Sound cleans up beaches, builds fish ladders and successfully defends the Sound from multi-national oil companies. Save the Sound has been leading the fight against Broadwater for the past three years. We also organize people to clean up Connecticut's beaches in the spring and fall.
Our dedication to the Long Island Sound region began in 1972, when we were founded as The Long Island Sound Taskforce. We have grown over the years, and in 2004 Save the Sound officially became part of Connecticut Fund for the Environment.
