Description

The Doe Fund is a leading New York City non-profit organization that develops and implements cost-effecient, holistic programs that comprehensively meet the needs of a diverse homeless population. All of The Doe Fund's programs ultimately strive to end homelessness for the individuals they serve. The Doe Fund operates the enormously popular and highly visible Ready, Willing & Able program, whose participants clean over 160 miles of streets and sidewalks every day. With a $50 million budget, over 400 staff members and 46,000 individual donors, The Doe Fund is nationally acclaimed as a work-based model for solving homelessness and criminal recidivism. We empower people to break the cycles of homelessness, welfare dependency, substance abuse, and incarceration through innovative work and housing programs. In addition to Ready, Willing & Able in NYC, The Doe Fund also operatees A Better Place, a supported residence for people with AIDS located in NYC and a Scatter Site Program that services a population of chronically homeless single adults who have substance abuse and disabling clinical conditions that impairs their ability to live independently .
