Navigators USA

Nonprofit or community organization

Description

In 2003, the Navigators was formed in response to the US Supreme Court decision to allow the Boy Scouts of America's policies of discrimination to continue as they do to this day.

The Navigators are boys and girls working together. They come from all religions or none, sexual orientation, and race. This is scouting for the Round Pegs in the Square Holes, who see things differently, who push us forward.

The core principle of the Navigators is the Moral Compass. Its key elements are to create a world free of prejudice and ignorance, to respect others and oneself, to strengthen oneself physically and mentally, to reach one's full potential, to preserve the earth and protect our freedoms.

It is the Moral Compass that guides our children, as well as the leaders and parents, through the Navigators experience. Seeing things differently; guided by the Moral Compass; children, leaders and parents coming together;—this becomes a community.

We are now 38 Chapters growing at a rate of 4 chapters per month.
