Mercado Global is a cutting-edge nonprofit, fair trade organization with an innovative approach for fighting poverty and empowering women in rural Latin America.

By combining business savvy with an innovative structure, Mercado Global helps rural women in Guatemala successfully connect to sales opportunities with specialty retailers and catalogs in the U.S. on an unprecedented scale, lifting their families out of poverty and gaining the skills and support they need to address other local challenges. Mercado Global’s sales partners include Levi Strauss Stores and ABC Carpet and Home, among others. Newsweek has also featured Mercado Global on its cover, and Good Morning America, Elle Decore, and others have showcased the organization’s designs.
