About Us

The YMCA International Learning Center (ILC) of Greater Boston has served Boston's immigrant and refugee community by providing classes in English as a second language, computer skills, and job readiness to more than 25,000 adult English language learners (ELLs) from over 40 different countries since 1975.

The ILC currently provides seven levels of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) from Beginner through Advanced, as well as courses in Speaking and Pronunciation, English for Employment, Basic Computer Literacy, and University Success. Classes take place in the morning, afternoon, and evening to accommodate the needs of our diverse student body.

ILC classes are learner-centered with goal-oriented contextualized curricula. All our students have access to computer labs and individualized attention from teachers and tutors.
