About us

Bethel Woods Center for the Arts is a not-for-profit cultural organization that seeks to inspire, educate, and empower individuals through the arts and humanities. Its commitment to provide the region it serves with the highest quality entertainment, educational, and cultural experiences is at the forefront of its work. Situated on 800 acres surrounding the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival in Bethel, NY, Bethel Woods is a beautiful, award-winning cultural and civic center featuring a 15,000 seat outdoor amphitheater, which opened in 2006 with the New York Philharmonic, and a museum dedicated to the social, political, and transformational decade of the 1960s, which opened in 2008. The Museum at Bethel Woods tells the story of the Sixties and Woodstock, and their continued legacies today, while the performing arts center provides popular and cultural arts performances for a wide variety of audiences.
