The Center for Peace and Social Justice is a grassroots social movement that seeks to create change through community building and empowerment. It is a movement based upon a diverse mixture of values and principles borrowed from all cultures around the globe. These values and principles are at the root of almost all religions and philosophies and will remain a constant theme in the Center's mission and work.
Mission: To empower the poor and disenfranchised by initiating community building through cooperation (rather than competition).
The CPSJ also serves as a staging area for constituents prior to the day's duties in the community.
By removing isolating fences, we are able to bring people together to share resources for the common good of the neighborhood. Participants learn and practice sustainable agricultural techniques that produce 100 % organic fruits and vegetables. Constituents are also taught the importance of water and land conservation, and not only learn, but also implement techniques to achieve each.
Each group is guided through a sixteen week course* which
provides each constituent the skills needed to form a Mutual
Benefit Corporation 501(c)(6) with their peers after instruction
concludes.
Each Mutual Benefit Corporation is observed and guided over
the course of a year. At which time a determination is made
in regard to future assistance by the Center for Peace and Social
Justice.
each constituent. For example, the agricultural course is shorter
than the sewing course.
The program provides disadvantaged veterans with sustainable work/income while generating revenue to fund the operation of the veterans home.
The Veterans Home allows former service members the opportunity to transition back into civilian life by providing them the necessary tools needed to find a home and suitable employment. The Veterans Home provides assistance to those seeking compensation and or pension from the Department of Veterans Affairs. Veterans are also encouraged to participate in community projects.
The CPSJ places an emphasis on egalitarianism & cooperation, and seeks to build a culturally diverse organization that recognizes all gender, religious, ethnic, sexual, and political groups.
