About Us

CCA was founded in 2000 by a group of Baton Rouge citizens committed to making the voice of the local lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community heard. With the intent of supporting political allies, CCA sought to change the landscape to one that had the LGBTQ community's interests at heart. More than a decade later, CCA has expanded its reach to addressing social, political, and economic issues important to our community. Whether it's assessing the community's needs, supporting and developing LGBTQ-affirmative policies, or promoting equality for all in our community, CCA is actively engaged in improving the quality of life for LGBTQ people.

One of CCA's goals is to develop and strengthen relationships with local, state, and national organizations and businesses that are committed to furthering our mission of improving the quality of life for LGBTQ people and our allies in greater Baton Rouge through education, communication, advocacy, and community building.

CCA is a leading LGBTQ education and advocacy non-profit organization in Baton Rouge, and our membership is rapidly growing. Consider signing up for our free email newsletter and becoming a Member, Alliance Partner, or Corporate Sponsor.

This is an exciting time to be involved with CCA and the larger LGBTQ community. A lot is happening, and I invite you to be a part of it. Please join us in making a difference!
