StudentsforService Students for Service is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing NYC teens with meaningful community service and service learning opportunities.
Through our flagship program, Teens for Food Justice, diverse teams of teens volunteer on a monthly basis throughout the school year, building and maintaining a hydroponic classroom farm at an elementary school that is growing produce for a food insecure community in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn. The farm serves as a hub for information and resources for healthier eating and living for residents, helping to fight diseases related to poor nutrition and obesity. The teens study these issues and collaborate with multiple community partners to increase healthy food access, improve nutrition and boost sustainable living practices for families struggling with limited budgets.
