Habitat for Humanity brings people together to create and preserve homeownership in our neighborhoods, to partner with hard-working, low-income families to be successful homeowners, and to inspire action that promotes affordable housing for everyone in our community.
We're best known for our Homeownership program where volunteers build and rehab simple, quality homes in partnership with low-income families and the community. We sell the homes with affordable, zero percent interest mortgages, making a 30-year commitment to each new homeowner and to the community in which they live. We also preserve homeownership by helping low-income homeowners repair and maintain their homes through our A Brush with Kindness (ABWK) program.
Twin Cities Habitat relies on thousands of volunteers every year to carry out our mission – be a part of stabilizing housing for hundreds of Twin Cities' families each year! Volunteers are needed to help with everything from construction to helping families settle into their new homes. Visit our Volunteer Programs website to find the volunteer opportunity that is right for you!
Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity has hosted AmeriCorps members to build and repair homes in the 7 county metro area since the first member was sworn in on September 12, 1994. Members help the affiliate provide positive and meaningful experiences for its volunteers.
We are currently recruiting ABWK and Construction Volunteer Facilitators to serve from September 2nd, through August 14, 2015. Please visit our AmeriCorps Program website to learn more.
