Founded in 1984, Hildebrand's mission is to help homeless families achieve self-sufficiency. We work with families and provide the support needed to move beyond homelessness toward independence. Services provided include emergency shelter, stabilization (i.e. long term residential support), permanent housing, intensive case management, and connection to community based resources.
Hildebrand supports 184 families comprised of 582 adults and their children in emergency shelter and stabilization programs. The continuum of services also includes 8 units of affordable and subsidized housing in Cambridge and Boston.
Our goal is to help families transition from emergency shelter to more stable permanent housing as soon as possible. The organization operates 113 units of emergency shelter in three congregate style living programs that support 23 families: two in Cambridge and one in Dorchester; and 90 scattered sites (i.e. independent living) locations in nine cities/neighborhoods: Cambridge, Chelsea, Dorchester, East Boston, Everett, Hyde Park, Mattapan, Revere, and Quincy.
