Description

The Weinberg Center for Elder Abuse Prevention is the nation's first comprehensive regional elder abuse shelter, serving eligible seniors who are 60-years and older.A unique model based within an existing long-term care facility, The Weinberg Center offers victims a full range of healthcare and supportive services including an emergency residential shelter and a coordinated system of care that provides a safe harbor, emotional support, psychological counseling, healthcare, legal advocacy and representation for victims of elder abuse.

Clients are encouraged to make full use of the Hebrew Home's social, recreational and educational programs, and to make use of the facility as a sanctuary from their previous environments. An interdisciplinary plan of care is developed for each client including a discharge plan, to the client's home, if safe, or to alternative housing.
