About Us

Girls Inc.® of Orange County positively changes the lives of nearly 6,000 girls, ages 5 to 18, each year by providing year-round holistic, compensatory, and intentional programming focusing on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math).

Girls Inc. of Orange County has been a respected member of the non-profit community for over 60 years. The mission of Girls Inc. is to inspire all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. We put our mission into practice through the Girls Inc. experience that equips girls to navigate gender, economic, and social barriers and grow into healthy, educated and independent adults. Health, education and independence are the three main areas that surround our program curricula.

We are an affiliate of the Girls Incorporated national organization, the nation's leading research and evaluation organization on issues pertaining to girls and young women. We work with girls ages 5 to 18 with proven "girl-focused" programs at our center located in Costa Mesa and at outreach sites established at schools and community centers throughout Orange County. In 2014, we served 5,345 girls. However, for every girl we serve there are 64 others who need our help. With the community's assistance and support, our numbers can continue to grow.

As the oldest girl-centered organization in the U.S., Girls Inc. has been transforming girls' views of themselves and their opportunities for generations. Girls Incorporated of Orange County is much more than an afterschool program – we are the place and have the people that help girls succeed.

The organization provides programs in communities throughout Orange County, with priority given to those areas where the need is greatest. We offer girls elementary and teen after-school and summer programs designed to:

  • Improve Self-Esteem
  • Boost Grades
  • Prepare For Higher Education
  • Become Active In Their Communities
  • Explore Science, Math, and Technology
  • Become Economically Independent Women

Girls Incorporated of Orange County, its staff and board of directors are committed to helping girls develop the values and skills they need to become confident, productive and responsible adults.
