KIPP (Knowledge is Power Program) is a national network of 125 free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory, public charter schools serving over 50,000 students annually, with a track record of preparing students in underserved communities for success in college and in life. Nationally, more than 95% of KIPPsters graduate from high school and 88% of KIPP alumni have gone on to college. Founded in 2004, KIPP Massachusetts (KIPP:MA) is now a region of 3 schools: KIPP Academy Lynn Middle School (founded in 2004 and serving over 480 KIPPsters in grades 5-8); KIPP Academy Lynn Collegiate High School (founded in 2011 and currently serving over 300 students in grades 9-11; KALC will serve students in grades 9-12 in Fall 2014); and KIPP Academy Boston Middle School (currently serving almost 150 students in grades 5-6; KAB will grow to serve students in grades 5-8 by 2016). In August 2014, KIPP MA will also begin serving our first class of Kindergarten students at KIPP Academy Boston Elementrary. By 2020, KIPP MA will grow to a region of 5+ schools in Lynn and Boston with several hundred staff serving over 2,100 students.
