Huvadhoo Aid (HAD) envisions a community in which all civil society organiations works in harmony with island administrator and the general public for the advancement of the rural communities. HAD exists to enable the rural people to work effectively in promoting and advancing the interests of the rural community of the Maldives to attain basic needs. We work to build a united and strong community for the advancement of the island. We base our actions to enable the community and NGOs to effectively promote and advance the interests, well-being of island community, and improve the effectiveness of the NGOs serving the community. Especially we seek to strengthen our actions for poverty alleviation in the community by promoting equity and equality.
HAD is an entirely volunteer-run organization supported by local, national, and foreign volunteers. HAD's organizational structure encourages leadership, but is also horizontally integrated to allow for members to flexibly interact for holistic problem solving. To effectively manage multiple projects and its expanding membership,
HAD is a member of many international organizations such as International Federation of NGOs for Prevention of Drug and Substance Abuse ( IFNGO), Global Youth Action Network (GYAN), Asia Europe Youth Corporation Program, Idealist ( One World), and many other organizations.
