Sweetly Designs is a for-profit, fair trade jewelry enterprise that seeks to empower rural women living below the poverty line in Gujarat, India with the tools necessary to market their goods to an international consumer base and to increase their income in a sustainable manner. Unlike traditional fair trade jewelry companies, Sweetly seeks to promote the individual dignity of each one of our designers by involving each one of our workers in the design process, allowing each woman to set her own hours, recognizing each woman's contribution to the end products by providing a personalized image of the woman who designed the piece with each product, and through an interactive website that allows international customers to read about the individual designers, see the pieces they have designed and purchase from the designer of their choice.
