The National Runaway Safeline (NRS) is a not-for-profit volunteer organization whose mission is to keep America's runaway, homeless and at-risk youth safe and off the streets. Volunteers provide crisis intervention and referrals to teenagers and parents through a national telephone hotline, 1-800-RUNAWAY, as well as advocacy and educational services on behalf of youth. Crisis line volunteers participate in a 40 hour training program prior to answering calls.
