Merlin is the only specialist UK agency which responds worldwide with vital health care and medical relief for vulnerable people caught up in natural disasters, conflict, disease and health system collapse. Driven by our ethos of looking beyond emergencies to safeguard long-term health, our medical relief and lasting healthcare services help more that 15 million people in up to 20 countries worldwide.

NATURAL DISASTERS: Merlin's emergency medical relief teams have reached thousands of survivors. Recent rapid response missions include the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami and the 2005 South Asia earthquake. CONFLICT: Merlin supplies clinics, hospitals and outreach services to communities affected by conflict in regions such as Darfur, the DRC and Afghanistan. DISEASE: Merlin's malaria, HIV and TB programmes help to prevent and treat disease in Asia and Africa. HEALTH SYSTEM COLLAPSE: In countries where war, disaster or lack of investment has ravaged the healthcare infrastructure, Merlin trains local staff and experts, equips laboratories and rehabilitates clinics and hospitals. Current countries of operation include Liberia, Georgia and Tajikistan .
